Almaden Valley

Once home to a number of quicksilver mines, the Almaden Valley neighborhood shed its role in the California Gold Rush long ago and has since become an upscale residential neighborhood in the heart of South San Jose. Living in Almaden Valley offers residents a sparse suburban feel with over 4,000 acres of picturesque views overlooking San Jose. One big perk of living in Almaden Valley is the number of public recreational parks within the neighborhood’s borders. Mount Umunhum, a city landmark, offers interpretive displays, mountain biking and hiking trails. Nearby Calero Reservoir is a great place for boating and waterskiing activities.

The Almaden Valley neighborhood boasts several top-rated public schools making the area a particularly attractive option for families with school-age children. Almaden offers a variety of housing and lot sizes including horse properties.
